SHINE Humanity Pakistan Partners with Art of Giving to Bring Rural Healthcare Closer to Karachi’s Givers

Shoppers can now learn about and support SHINE Humanity’s work in rural Pakistan through Art of Giving’s Automated Kindness Machine, in about a minute.

SHINE Humanity Pakistan, a healthcare nonprofit serving rural Pakistan, has partnered with Art of Giving (AoG), a responsible-giving platform, making it easier than ever for people to help bring quality primary healthcare to underserved communities across Pakistan. At the heart of the partnership is AoG’s Automated Kindness Machine, an interactive giving kiosk in Karachi’s Ocean and Atrium Malls, which now features SHINE Humanity’s work.

Pakistan is one of the world’s most generous nations, and Art of Giving estimates that 84% of adult Pakistanis give to charity each year. Yet few give through organisations whose work they understand or can follow. The partnership sets out to change that, making it simpler for people to support quality primary healthcare for underserved communities and easier for them to see the difference they make.

Giving through the Kindness Machine takes about a minute. Visitors watch a short video on the machine’s large screen, select SHINE Humanity on its tablet and donate in cash on the spot, receiving an instant printed and SMS receipt. AoG brand ambassadors are on hand to introduce shoppers to SHINE Humanity’s mobile clinics, telemedicine services, clean water projects and community health programs, and to help at every step. Compared with clicking through an online ad, a landing page and a card form, it is a simpler and far more personal way to give.

Support does not have to end with a single donation, or even involve money. Visitors can choose to give their time instead and sign up as volunteers. Every donor also receives a link to set up a monthly contribution, so they can sustain primary healthcare all year round rather than only during campaign seasons, and supporters can give by bank transfer with help from AoG’s donor services team.

“For many families in rural Pakistan, a doctor is still far out of reach, and our quality primary healthcare services exist to close that gap,” said Faheem Khan, CEO of SHINE Humanity Pakistan. “With Art of Giving, anyone in Karachi can now help bring that care to those communities in about a minute, and stay connected to the difference they make long after.”
