Bank Alfalah, one of Pakistan\u2019s leading commercial banks, in collaboration with the Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN), Zindagi Trust and Kiran Foundation, has supported the launch of the School-Based Family Learning Initiative. The 12-month programme aims to improve health and financial literacy among mothers, caregivers and students.<\/p>\n
The initiative was launched at Zindagi Trust\u2019s SMB Fatima Jinnah School in Karachi. It will run across three Zindagi Trust schools and two Kiran Foundation schools in Karachi and Shangla, using schools to reach students and their families.<\/p>\n
Teachers will receive training to conduct health-literacy sessions with mothers and caregivers. AMAN\u2019s digital health-literacy platform, Bakhabar Noujawan, will provide content on key health and wellbeing topics.<\/p>\n
Bank Alfalah will work directly with AMAN to integrate financial-literacy content into Bakhabar Noujawan, helping mothers and caregivers build practical knowledge to make informed financial decisions.<\/p>\n
The launch included remarks from Dr Azra Ahsan, Secretary General of AMAN; Shehzad Roy, Founder and President of Zindagi Trust; Sabina Khatri, Founder and Chairperson of Kiran Foundation; and Madiha Javed Qureshi, Head of Corporate Communication at Bank Alfalah.<\/p>\n
Dr Raj Kumar, EPI Programme Director, Sindh, spoke about the importance of vaccination and closer collaboration between the Expanded Programme on Immunization and the Education Department to improve health awareness and outreach.<\/p>\n
The initiative aims to create a model through which learning at schools can reach mothers, caregivers and families. Lessons from the 12-month programme will be documented to help assess how the approach could be introduced in other schools.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
