More than 15,000 drivers have taken part in inDrive’s financial literacy course in Pakistan, with early results showing that participants are not only engaging with financial education but also applying what they learn to their everyday routines. The course was launched in collaboration with CIRCLE Women Association (CWA), a women-led, tech-enabled nonprofit advancing economic opportunities and skills development in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
For drivers managing income that can vary from day to day, financial decisions often extend beyond simply how much money they make. Budgeting, saving, managing expenses and planning ahead can all play a role in creating greater control over day-to-day finances.<\/p>\n
inDrive’s financial literacy course was developed to make these topics practical and relevant to drivers’ everyday lives. Through short lessons and real-life examples, the programme covers budgeting, saving, borrowing and income planning, while also helping drivers better understand relevant in-app tools such as the Demand Map and Geo Incentives.<\/p>\n
Since its launch, more than 15,000 drivers in Pakistan have participated in the course, with 1000+ completing the full programme. The course received an average lesson score of 4.7 out of 5, while more than half of those who completed it fully mastered the material and passed the final test.<\/p>\n
The strongest signal, however, comes from how drivers say they are using the knowledge beyond the course itself. In post-course feedback, participants frequently mentioned developing regular saving habits, writing down their budgets and expenses, setting daily financial targets and using the Demand Map to plan their work.<\/p>\n
One driver shared: \u201cI started weekly savings. To reach 48,000 in four months, I set aside 3,000 every week. I also check the Demand Map before driving.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another participant described the practical value of the course: \u201cThe most useful thing was the 50\/30\/20 budget rule. Splitting income into needs, wants and savings is simple and practical.\u201d<\/p>\n
Early business data also points to changes in how participants engage with the platform. In the three weeks following the course, more than 15,000 participants made 13% more rides. Course participants also became 40% more active in using the inDrive features covered in the programme, including the Demand Map and Geo Incentives.<\/p>\n
While these results reflect an early stage of the programme, they suggest that practical financial education can extend beyond the learning experience itself, becoming part of how drivers plan their finances and navigate their work on the platform.<\/p>\n
The accessibility of the format appears to have played an important role in engagement. Drivers highlighted the simplicity of the lessons and the availability of the course in Urdu, making the content easier to understand and apply in everyday life.<\/p>\n
