The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Google LLC today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Child Online Safety, aimed at strengthening awareness, digital safety and responsible use of online platforms among children, parents, teachers and caregivers across Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Under the MoU, PTA and Google will collaborate on a Child Safety Program focused on awareness, education and capacity-building, equipping parents and teachers with practical tools and resources to help children navigate the digital world safely. Key initiatives include developing awareness content in English and local languages, conducting training programs in educational institutions and supporting a nationwide outreach campaign to connect millions of families with localized online safety resources and tutorials.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman PTA Maj. Gen. (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, HI (M), SI highlighted the importance of collective efforts and stakeholder collaboration to protect children in an increasingly digital environment.<\/p>\n
Dr. Khawar Siddique Khokhar, Member (Compliance & Enforcement), PTA, emphasized the importance of promoting digital literacy and responsible use of online platforms to promote a safer digital environment for children and families in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
